Good level of satisfaction with Landonline
Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) has released results of a survey of Landonline customers which was conducted in July 2011. These show that 91% of responding conveyancers said they were satisfied with the service overall.
Conveyancers were the most satisfied of the groups which were surveyed. The lowest satisfaction rate - 67% - was for surveyors. Overall 87% of responding Landonline customers said they were satisfied.
The survey drew responses from 2526 Landonline customers - a response rate of 25%. Of these, 1562 were conveyancers (defined as customers who held an e-dealing licence).
Of the conveyancing respondents, 33% stated that they were employed as a legal executive, 24% as a partner/director or sole practitioner, 21% as secretary or support staff, 16% as solicitor, 4% as associate, and 2% as practice manager or "other".
E-dealing conveyancing respondents were categorised by the level of their activity. The results showed that 46% of those who had High activity (110 or more lodgments a year) were legal executives, followed by secretary or support staff (22%).
The results also showed that 79% of respondents agreed that Landonline was more efficient than the paper system it replaced. However, only 28% of respondents agreed that Landonline had reduced the cost of doing business.
Frequency of use findings showed that 55% of respondent conveyancers conducted at least one search a day. Guaranteed searches, spatial searches and mortgage memorandum searches were the least frequently used search types among e-search customers.
The average conveyancer conducted 4-5 title transactions in the average week.
