Parliamentary business summary 14-16 February

Parliament sat from 14-16 February. During the three days 22 bills were given their third reading.

The Road User Charges Bill was read a third time on 14 February.

The National Animal Identification and Tracing Bill was read a third time on 15 February.

The committee stage of the Taxation (International Investment and Remedial Matters) Bill was completed and the bill reported with amendment on 15 February.

The committee stage of the Customs and Excise (Joint Border Management Information Sharing and Other Matters) Amendment Bill was interrupted on 15 February.

The Ngai Tāmanuhiri Claims Settlement Bill and the Ngāti Mākino Claims Settlement Bill were read a first time on 16 February. Both bills were referred to the Māori Affairs Committee.

The Ngāti Manawa and Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Bill, Nga Wai o Maniapoto (Waipa River) Bill, Ngāti Pāhauwera Treaty Claims Settlement Bill, and Ngati Porou Claims Settlement Bill were read a second time on 16 February.

The Statutes Amendment Bill (No 2) was read a second time, then divided into 20 bills, which were read a third time on 16 February. The bills amend the following Acts: Antarctica (Environmental Protection) Act 1994, Charities Act 2005, Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, Companies Act 1993, Crimes Act 1961, Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009, Domestic Violence Act 1995, Judicature Act 1908, Limited Partnerships Act 2008, Marriage Act 1955, Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 1992, New Zealand Railways Corporation Act 1981, New Zealand Superannuation and Retirement Income Act 2001, Public Finance Act 1989, Social Security Act 1964, Sugar Loaf Islands Marine Protected Area Act 1991, Trade Marks Act 2002, Wild Animal Control Act 1977, and the Wills Act 2007.

The Statutes Amendment Bill (No 3) was read a first time and referred to the Government Administration Committee.
