Expressions of interest are sought for lawyer members on a Lawyers Standards Committee based in Auckland. Positions are for an initial term of two years.
To be eligible for appointment as a lawyer member on a Standards Committee you must have practised as a lawyer for a period or periods aggregating not less than five years. You need to be of good character and have the skill, experience and judgment needed to investigate and consider complaints. You won’t do this on your own, you will work collaboratively with others. Meetings are monthly and occur either in-person or remotely. There is reading to do beforehand. Sometimes you get a lunch. Always you get thanks.
The Standards Committee concerned is seeking expressions of interest from lawyers with experience in the following areas:
