Complimentary access to a section and new lawyers' networks
The Law Society has specialist representative groups for lawyers practising in family law, property law, or in‑house. We recognise that not all legal practise is the same, and these sections provide tailored support for different areas of law. With your Law Society membership, you receive complimentary access to one section, as well as the new lawyers' group, which is well established across the motu. Full membership for 2026/27 is $330 + GST. Activate your paid membership to continue having access to a section and the new lawyers' group.
The annual membership subscription is from 1 July to 30 June each year, and includes membership to one Section: Property Law, Family Law, or In-house Lawyer Association of New Zealand (ILANZ), subject to eligibility, and the new lawyers' group, alongside every lawyer's opportunity to connect with their local branch.
Activate your membership
If you received your first practising certificate between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024, your complimentary Law Society membership is ending. Activating your paid membership ensures you continue to receive full member benefits.
You are able to activate your paid membership as part of your practising certificate renewal in the Registry. Click the Activate today link in the pop-up window as part of the renewals process.
